Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Tumor

HELP, Can opptictians see a tumor when doing eye test. I get so worried I might have a tumor but frightened of scans. Does anyone know please.

I guess that depends on where one assumes the tumor is. If it's not in the eye, then they can't see it. If it's somewhere in your brain, you need a scan.
Do you mind if ask why you think you have a tumor? Thinking you do, waiting to hear if you don't....the process is an emotional roller coaster.I have been through it. But if you really think you do, you need to talk to your doctor.

Hi, You may have Pseudo Tumor Cerebri also known as IIH. This is what I have. You will go to a Neuro Ophthalmologist and they will review your eyes to see if your optic nerves are swollen. They will send you for MRI Brain Scan. It could come back as no tumor is there, that is a sign of PTC \ IIH. They will then send you for a spinal tap to see how high your spinal fluid pressure is. If it is high, you have PTC \ IHH. This is a difficult disease to handle but we have a support group on daily strength and there is a lot of support on Face Book.

Please locate us on PseudoTumor Cerebri for more information. We do not call our headaches migraines they are referred to as high pressure headaches because our bodies are making too much brain \ spinal fluid and our skull can't hold it. Hence, we have all the symptoms of someone with a brain tumor.
