Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I haven't read the website, but the acidic/alkalline debate should be based on what impact the food has on making your body acidic or alkaline, not the acidity or alkalinity of the food (just in case that's th arguement the author uses). Fruits and vegetables and whole grains are generally considered to promote alkalinity and meats and dairy are considered to promote acidity, all to a greater or lesser degree. A balance is needed (see Natural Solutions magazine, July/August issue or their web exclusive on bone health and veggies at naturalsolutionsmag.com). Just came across it recently.
I guess I'm confused as to what these tannins actually are and should probably check out the website.
FYI, the dye in Gouda cheese is used to make classic Gouda cheese wheel coating red! :)
I have severe food allergies, peanuts, shellfish, sea vegetables, ALL DAIRY in any form, so I have not eaten Dairy products in more than 20 years. So, I don't remember about cheeses. But, I don't think they bothered my head. It causes TERRIBLE digestive distress and some hives. No DAIRY, in my life, means NO dairy. No cheese of any kind. No ice cream. No milk. (Nor anything with milk in it.) No sour cream. No cream cheese. Reading EVERY label, (because even things like Kool Whip, which is SUPPOSED TO BE NON-DAIRY has freakin' MILK in the "Light" Kool Whip.) No Whipped Cream. No pudding. No cream soups. If more than a few molecules of dairy protein gets into my body and I am sick as a dog. The Lactose is a totally different thing, and I can't tolerate EITHER Lactose OR Whey, (Whey is actually an ALLERGY, the Lactose is an INTOLERANCE to breaking down the sugars, they are very different processes in the human body, but BOTH are in cow tit juice) so that makes eating at other people's houses, restaurants, etc difficult.
I hate to be a pain in the ass, when I go do someone's house, but I have been to dinner parties where, literally, the ONLY thing I could eat was crackers. Don't people THINK? Is it necessary to put the FLUID FROM A COW TIT INTO EVERY FREAKIN' THING YOU COOK? (Sorry, got a little upset there. We went to a dinner party a few nights ago, where I ate......crackers....that's it, freakin' crackers. And, spent most of the dinner in the bathroom, because I DO NOT like to call attention to my ailments. But, the woman who hosted the party KNOWS I have food allergies, you would think ONE thing on the freakin menu could be Cow Tit and/or shellfish free. UG, why would anyone want to drink the milk from one of the dumbest mammals on earth anyway???? What a disgusting excuse for a food, unless you happen to be a baby COW.......OK rant over.
I, personally, don't subscribe to the "combined foods" theories, mostly because I am very scientific minded, and there is NO science behind it.
I know tannins, aldehydes, alcohols, and other chemicals trigger my headaches, so I will go to the site you gave.
Thank you.
