Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
Then, like flipping a switch, it all stopped and the headache was gone. The strange thing was that I wasn't feeling sad during the sobbing.
I've since learned that was a seizure. I've had them like that before. Sometimes I suddenly smell a strange odor of sulfur. That is also a seizure, I've learned. It's good to know what is going on, even if I can't do much about it. I don't get these things now, because I've been able to limit the stress in my life below those extreme levels.
The nuero in the hospital put me on Keppra 1000mgs to prevent seizures and also started me on Cymbalta to help prevent headaches. I also found a miracle drug called Mazalt that stops a really bad headache when I have one.
I think the key to preventing seizures is to get my migraines under control.
I am still kinda in the dark with all of this, but this is what we are trying first to see if it helps. :)
