Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
As I mentioned in my other post, I decided on Axert. It works faster for me than Relpax with less sleepy side effects. If you have that as an option, you might want to try it.
Please let us know how you like Zomig once you try it.
I have a neurology appointment in 11 days. I guess my best bet is to ask for samples and see what happens.
--As a nasal spray
--in tablet form (50 or 100)
--in a tablet with Aleve already in it (but my doctor has me do the regular tablet and add Aleve on my own)
--in a injection (needle form)
--in an injection (air form given in stomach)
When I used the injection by needle, the doctor wanted me to use it on the inside of my thigh. OH Tender. He told me to slap my inner thigh hard, to take the tenderness away, and then give the injection and that takes away pain. But it can be embarrassing when you are in a bathroom stall which is one of many stalls and you slap your thigh hard and other people are in the bathroom too.
The neurologist has me take the 100 tablet of Imitrex and add two Aleve over the counter tablets and he said it makes it work more effectively. Before anyone does that, check with your doctor first.
