Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Hopefully, I am getting over a 3 day migraine. Spent most of the last 2 days inside, cancelled a invitaion I had. I took my meds which helped, but as usual I feel like I look like hell and still am spacey. I really wanted to get out a bit anyway, to get a few things at the local Menards. It's a short drive, but the lights in the store seemed too bright and felt the dazed an confused feeling. Got my trash bags and at the register the clerk seem to keep staring at me. I almost asked her why, but I really didn't want to know.. I headed to me car and thought I really must look bad. I was kind of puffy I thought. A few years ago when walking the dog after a migraine some wise guy said hangover eh? He chuckled, I don't even drink. Maybe I am just over sensitive but I feel like hiding out. Anyone else have these things happen.? This is a vent day

I was just getting over a migraine and my husband and I went to the store and the cashier said "wow you look terrible". Thanks because I don't already feel terrible. I would never say something like that to anyone.

I so get this! My boss told me today that I looked better than I did on Friday - I guess I looked like shit bc my head was hurting. I'm like "thanks" even though my face is broken out and I am exhausted. I also noticed a lovely new postdrome side effect: weakness in my legs. I feel like I have been tumbling around in the washing machine.

Im working on a two weeker. Its not as bad as it was last week and not quite debilitating, but its still there reminding me I could be out of comission at any time. I see my doc again this week.

I just found the Mayo clinic website, thanks to my daughter, has a good video that demonstrates the migraine in its various stages. I've never seen it so clearly defined before. Had hunches about the pre-drome symptoms but never knew it was an established fact. Just type in migraine headaches in the search. It's MayoClinic.com.
I've only ever been told I look really tired when I have one. Mostly I don't want to talk or see or be seen. In a way I'd be glad if what was going on inside was evident on the outside. My mother always thought I was faking when I would be sick in school or before. Then I'd get one and puke. The nuns would then get my saintly brother to clean it up...one good thing about getting them in school. THen my head would hurt but it would be residual pain, sort of like the 2nd or third day now. I never throw up any more so they pain is intense, sharp and debilitating.
