Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
Greetings all.
Just wondering if anyone has come across any combination of preventatives and/or abortives that are outside the norm. I have tried many many many different medications of both varieties, but am wondering if there is maybe something I haven't heard of. I've done quite a bit of research, and all of the meds I've come across I've tried in the past with little to no success. But I know some people find relief in strange ways, and I am willing to try anything.
If you are on a combination of meds or have found something that works for you and you wouldn't mind sharing I would love to hear from you.

The very last thing they wanted to put me on was off-label: It was a medicine to treat Alzheimers! I absolutely refused. I just couldn't wrap my head around that suggestion.
My point is: there is always something new you can try!
Yvette, have you heard of the treatment I speak of?
I'm going to look up the alzheimers med for migraines. At this point in my life, and with how bad my migraines are, I'd be willing to try ANYTHING to get relief. As long as I'm informed on what the medicine is, and what the side effects are, I'd be ok with it. To be honest, it doesn't surprise me that a medicine that works on the brain would be used off label for migraines.
