I once got a migraine to completely go away when I had to spend some time outside in the middle of the winter, without a good jacket.

Oh, I wouldn't doubt that at all. I never wear a hat in winter and roll down my windows when I drive. Heavenly cool.

I believe there's a nerve or something(excuse the ignorance) in one of the hands connected to headpain because I remember reading an article years ago(I wish I could remember the details), but I learned that massaging one hand helped to relieve migraine pain. It really worked and alot of times I didn't need medication.

MMM! Ive even bought ice crean sundays at mcdonalds and held them on my head while driving home LOL!! Will try the cold water. TY!

Thank you all for posting this - yes, yes, I can relate to the mcdonalds thing! I think I look kinda freaky lol but at that point idk. A a cold room, shower, ice packs, those eye gel masks... give me cold!!!! But the very best thing I've done for myself is buy rx sunglasses and wear them everywhere (even indoors) bc the fluorescent lights and glare off snow and anything like that is playing with fire. And my family got a bit tired of flashlights lol bc during an awful migraine I want to shoot out even the refrigerator lights! I even had to put someone on DS on ignore bc their avatar was flashing. Made me sad but it was just too much. I wish you well Raggedy

I can imagine. I like an ice cold gel pack over the eyes and on the brain stem. I usually lay down and fall asleep in no time like that.
