Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Hi Beely. I can see a Doctor's concern, but with Chronic migraines (15+ a month) it is extremely hard to live a normal life. Especially if you've had it for many years and it is getting worse. So there is a certain % of people who will do this out of desperation. I would be one that would research it thoroughly and sign up in caution. As caring as a doctor may be for you, they don't know everything about everything.
Here is the info on it. It is not something I know a whole lot about I am just putting it out there. My doctor did not recomended although I really wanted to try it because I feel desparate most days.
It will be interesting to read up over the year(s) to see what pros and cons is written up on this and if it goes into formal testing (or has started).
Maybe I'm just a dreamer hoping for that switch to turn off this pain.
