That is so wonderful. I pray it continues to help. Maybe more Dr's will start using it. I'm like your daughter & have had every med tried on me & nothings working. I'm in the process of getting Botox injections & insurance doesn't cover it! It's a frustrating life we live with these headaches. God Bless!

This drug was offered to me by my neurologist, but when I researched it, the potential side effects scared me too much. If you look at the complete list of side effects that occured in the clinical trials it says "Cardiac Failure - FREQUENT". My neuro. said its very hard on the heart and my family has a history of heart disease. I'd rather have daily migraines (16 years of them now) then take a drug that frequently causes cardiac failure.

Hi. I would also like to add a congrats if namenda is working. It does sound promising and I know they are starting clinical trials. I would like to note some caution as I was on namenda in combination with topamax. I found that for me, that combination caused severe mood changes and I very quickly went from functioning to clinically depressed going towards suicidal. I couldn't see it myself until it was too late so I needed to rely on others around me to notice changes in mood before it spiraled out of control. By no means do I mean to be discouraging! - I just want you to be on the lookout for any mood changes in your daughter and keep your doctor informed every step of the way. Don't be afraid to tell her if she is getting emotional. It may not be hormones or a bad day - it could just be the medication :)

Thanks for your input. My daughter is not taking Namenda with any other medication and so far so good. I will keep an eye on her though. I appreciate your advice.

Hello I am 32 I have had migraines since I can remember they just put me on Namenda and Cambia so far for me having had a headache almost every day for so many years I have been on it now a week I feel twinges of one starting but have yet to have one ! Is your daughter still on it ? And how has it been working ?
