Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I've been on Namenda for just over 3 weeks. I haven't noticed any improvement. I do think it takes at least a month to see any benefits though. Hang in there!
He recently (one month ago) had a sinus surgery to correct a deviated septum but so far it hasn't helped. His doctor said it could take a few more weeks to start helping. He said there was contant points in the sinus which could cause his type of neuralgia.
He had radio frequency in the nerve and botox in the muscles around the nerve which did not help. He has taken many various medications over the years and none of them have helped and most had undesirable side effects which caused us to stop them after a fair tial period.
He is now trying the Namenda and cold laser (starting today). His doctor said to increase the Namenda after a week but no more than 2 tablets a day. So far he hasn't had any noticable side effects from 1 pill a day. If it helps him, my other who is 23, and has had daily headaches for about 8 years, might consider taking it too.
