Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
Just got back from the doctor. He is an osteopath so he is trained in some chiropractic and massage treatments. Using a minor adjustment and accupressure he got rid of my daughters headache. So he is certain that the headaches are being caused by spasms in her neck.
He gave her another steroid injection to try to get rid of inflamation. And he prescribed Soma to relax the muscles and hopefully stop the headaches. That plus some heat should stop them.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I know a lot of people are against Soma, but honestly, it is a far better drug than flexeril or robaxiin, etc. I should clarify, that is my humble opinion. It was the only thing that would break up the tension in my neck that often triggered my migraines. I am sure you will handle it in the manner it is prescibed.
I have nothing against osteopaths; in fact in Oregon they are the norm. My mom often told me the story of my grandfather fallling off of an electric pole in Kansas and the only doctor for miles was an osteopath. Both she and my grandparents credit his massage and adjustment skills in restoring his ability to walk again.
I hope that this helps your daughter. I am sure you are like me in that it kills you to see your child hurting. Keep me posted.

My fear is that the soma is relaxing some muscles and now other injuries from the car accident are coming out. My plan is to give the soma 24 hrs and if these pains persist to get to the orthopedist. I am hoping that it is just muscles relaxing after being in spasm for so long and that this will also go away.
