Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.

Migrainous Vertigo is receiving more attention in the Neurology literature and is underdiagnosed with the prevalence believed to be 1% of the total population.
Here is some info on Migrainous Vertigo (MV)
DIAGNOSTIC CRITERIA FOR DEFINITE MIGRAINOUS VERTIGO:
1) Episodic vestibular symptoms (motion sickness, dizziness, falling to one side, ataxia) of at least moderate severity
2) Current or previous history of migraine
3) One of the following migrainous symptoms during 2 attacks of vertigo: migrainous headache, photophobia, phonophobia, visual or other auras
4) Other causes ruled out by appropriate investigations (MV can be misdiagnosed as benign positional vertigo)
PROBABLE MIGRAINOUS VERTIGO
1) Episodic vestibular symptoms of at least moderate severity
2) One of the following:
--Current or previous history of migraine, migrainous symptoms during vestibular symptoms,migraine precipitants of vertigo in more than 50% of attacks: food triggers, sleep irregularities, hormonal change
TREATMENT:
1) Treatment of acute MV with acute migraine medication can be attempted with triptans (imitrex, maxalt, zomig, relpax, etc) and vestibular suppressants (compazine, anitvert) 2) A retrospective study finds that the effect of triptans on vertigo is correlated to its effect on headache
3) Nonpharmaceutic approaches in the treatment of MV should not be neglected and may be more effective than drugs in individual patients. Regular sleep, meals, and exercise and avoidance of identified triggers have a firm place in migraine prophylaxis.
4) Selected patients may profit from vestibular rehabilitation

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
It is just something I have learned to live with like the vertigo. I just try to prevent the headache or spinning from getting any worse. My vision blurs daily as well. I also have numbness in various parts of my body off and on. The neurologists I have seen find a slight deficit in strength too. They also all look at me like I am crazy!! It is really frustrating. I have a total of about 12 things wrong with me that they discovered trying to find the cause of the vertigo and numbness. None of the things they have found cause those symptoms or the headaches for that matter.
Sorry this isnt going anywhere is it?
I guess I am just frustrated and this touches a nerve.
