Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
Have you been checked for Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO)? I had terrible migraines for years along with my vertigo, so my first neuro sent me to a cardiologists who found a hole in my heart. PFO\'s are really commen, about 25% of the population have it, but they are not that serious unless your at risk for having a stroke or you have severe migraines.
I had a constant headache for over three years that would escalate to full blown migraines at least 4 days a week. It was hell, but after I had the device placed in my heart last July to close the hole I have been headache free ever since. (I still get regular stress headaches and sinus headaches from allergies but that\'s normal).

I was really lucky that where I live the Doctor that did the surgery is the #1 cardiologist in the country. The surgery is a piece of cake and you\'re out of the hospital the next day. (They just make a small incision in your leg and guide a tube up to your heart to place the implant, no open heart surgery is required).
I hope this info helps and this all that is wrong. With everything that is out there this is the easiest fix I\'ve found. Let me know if you have any other questions or just need a shoulder. :o)
(LKim I tried Topamax too, what a nightmare! I was on it 2 days and I can\'t even describe the horror of the side effects).
