sometimes when i have migraines i can get really dizzy....this actually happened on monday.....i was so dizzy that i actually feel down in the shower and still had to go to work and stuff.....when this happens i push fluids....usually water.....i try to lay down or relax and take it easy....if you can, try to move around your apartment or house...don't run a mile or clean like a mad woman but walking a little bit can help....if you feel extremely dizzy, sit down....the last thing you want to happen is an accident....as far as food goes, make something easy.....toast and scrambled eggs.....that's something quick and easy and simple....you get that little exercise and you get that protein and energy from food that your body needs.....i would recommend staying away from electronics and things like books as it can make your head worse....if your mot too sensitive to light and sound you could maybe have a movie on with the sound on low.....i hope this helped....these are things that i found have helped me....if you want to talk, please feel free to message me

I'm just curious, did you ever see an ENT about the dizziness? Chronic dizziness sounds more like vertigo than a migraine attack. You can have a migraine with vertigo, but you can also just have vertigo.

Thanks Valgal..all good suggestions & I'm doing most of those. I never realized dizziness could be a migraine.
As for just having vertigo, yes, I've been thoroughly tested & it is migraines. When the dr first said migraines, I thought it was crazy but when Mayo diagnosed the same thing, I said ok. He's started me on meds & it does help, but still have a ways to go. Does it ever totally end?

I get dizziness with my migraines, but my migraines are aura migraines. I lose part of my vision and have visual disturbances. I get anxious, am sensitive to light and sound, get dizzy, and sometimes tingly. I also get nauseous....when all of that subsides I get the headache.

Eww..so sorry to hear that. I don't get auras..but I do get one-sided headaches & nausea more & more. I'm taking Paxil which Ithink might be helping the dizziness but unfortunately is making the nausea worse so calling my neuro tomorrow. I'm also trying to keep a diary to see if I can figure out triggers..all this really sucks!

I get similar symptoms to yours. They aren't pleasant. I don't have extreme vertigo, but just enough to be noticeable and annoying. I have seen and ENT and the Neurologist, but they haven't changed my treatment for it. My vertigo will act up when my migraine is hitting and I have too much visual stimulus and have to shift focus a lot. Hope you can get yours under control. It can be a pain to deal with.

Thanks Wl..I just saw my neurologist yesterday. He has put me on Trazadone because I had a bad reaction to Paxil CR. I just took it last nite & woke up feeling fine so am keeping my fingers crossed. What do U take? The dr said he will add another med once I can get this one under control. I've also found that walking helps me with the vision over-stimulus ..it's not easy at first but then calms it all down.

I can only speak for myself but I too get dizzy every time I get a headache. They are getting more frequent since the heat started. I also notice that I am more off balance. You are not alone. Also you could also suffer from Vertigo and and inner ear disease as well. I can't think of the name right now but if it comes to me, I will let you know. Oh yes, it's called Menieres disease. It's very hard to diagnose. I have Vertigo and they guessed Menieres as well. Hugs GB

Hi, I've had chronic migraines with dizziness for 20 years now. It's been dreadful. I've seen 11 different neurologists. I've had cervical fusion done in hopes of it helping my migraines but with no benefit at all. (surgery was due to herniated disc). I am currently taking Cymbalta with Klonopin as my preventive. I've been on numerous medications over the years. I am on disability because of this condition. I'm extremely frustrated today so I thought I'd check out this site again. I cannot stay on-line much at all because of the dizziness. Doing any kind of focusing only makes my problem worse. I saw an ENT doctor who specialized in migraines for 9 yrs. During the time with him I at least on occasion would have a week or two where I wouldn't have to be in bed. For the past 2 1/2 yrs. I have it every day. When the pain isn't too severe my dizziness is worse. The one medication that helped me some was Topamax. That drug did give me more relief than any other but after being on it for 9 yrs. it stopped working. I'm at my wits end today. I do see a psychologist who is helping me learn mindfulness. (meditation) for my breathing. It's helpful for an hour or so then I'm back where I was again. I'm trying to hand in there but I'm extremely tired of all of this. My chronic problem started at 40 yrs. of age right after having mononucleosis. I am now 60 and can't do much at all. Have been to holistic partitioners, chiropractors, PT's, acupuncturists, you name it I've been there. I read what someone wrote about Menier's disease. They say there's no cure for that. I don't know what to think anymore. I'm just frightened that this will never leave me. Many people pray for me including myself. I hope you will find the help you need with your current situation. I just needed to vent today. Thanks everyone for understanding my sadness & frustration.

I also have frequent dizziness, which the neurologist said was from migraines. But I also have epilepsy and high BP and meds for both so I'm not sure what to blame.
