I have used Imitrex but the side fx were too severe for me. So I switched to Maxalt. I like it a lot better. The cost of these pills even with my insurance is enough to bring on a migraine but when you are there in a bad one, I guess you give up anything to feel better. I have 10 mg pills-if headache is not too severe and I catch it at the onset - half a pill will do it ....but if I wake up in the morning with a full blown headache - then I take a whole one. Also my insurance company only allows 10 a month. So I have to be creative in making the stretch thru the whole month.

Wow, that is really severe for your insurance company to limit you like that. What do you do if you have headaches more often than 10 times in a month?

I would also add...as a phyician AND migraine sufferer...always ask your doc if they have samples..it is a complete shame to not have the meds you need...maxalt, relpax, imitrex, amerge...the drug companies sample these drugs LIKE CRAZY to physicians (we have closets full) and I think you should take advantage...no matter how we all feel about drug companies...lets have a few on them!

I finished the final chapter and upgraded it to 5 stars since it included so much hope from research in neuroscience and pyschiatric genetics AND it's not too far off! YAY

This is an important documentary. High on story and content. Low on artistry, but that's not the point. Addresses the historical research regarding the passages most used to condemn homosexuality. Very important to note that these views were not "created" to answer the religious right pov but have been the findings of Biblical scholars for many years past.

I was just givin Maxalt, (samples from the doc) but I have not tried them as of yet, I also would like to hear about peoples experience with it

I have taken Maxalt(the melt tabs) they worked pretty good for a little while and then they quit, just like everything else has, but it did help for a while.

i treid maxalt and it did nothing with my mirgain and also if you do not have insurance you will pay a pretty penny, it is very very expensive almost 400 for 12 pills,,so i would consider something else if you can,,because there is no generic brand for maxalt.

I have tried this medication along with many others and none seem to help relieve any of the pain from the migraines I get. I suppose they are migraines, my neurologist said they are caused by increased seizure activity. I also have epilepsy. All I know is that it is a pain in my head that tries to drive me insane at times.

I had chest pain with both Maxalt and Imitrex after the first pill so I had to stop taking both. Now I'm on Topamax, I hate it, but it's the only thing keeping my headaches somewhat at bay.

I took Maxalt for quite awhile. It worked great the first 4/5 times I took it, then it was just like eating candy. The trick is to take it AS SOON as you feel a migraine coming on or it doesn't work that well (as with most meds) but really true with maxalt. When I first started taking Maxalt, I just believed it was the miracle cure; that's how well it worked! The side effects aren't great but better than most that I've endured. Chest tightness for me, hard to breathe....

My doctor is great about giving me samples. It is true just ask. I know that I get migraines so often, but my insurance will only allow me an x amount of pills, so I call my doctor and he gives me samples to carry me through till my next script.

Maxalt for me did work somtimes, but I had an allergic reaction to it. Weird. I had a broken blood vessles in my eyes because of it. I was at the time having so many migraines a moth they would prescribe me 6 pills and I was having around 10. so they put me on a preventative as it is more dangerouse to take more than the prescribed 6 a month. Now I am on topamax, with zomig for backup.
