Has anyone heard about intestinal migraines? My husband's daughter just mentioned this to me yesterday. In later years she has had a very touchy stomach and been on many special diets.

She also gets migraines with aura.

Now the thinking is she could have intestinal migranes. Can anyone tell me about them or where to find reliable information about them?

Has she looked into Celiac disease? If she is having migraines and stomach or digestion problems it could be a gluten problem. Just a thought.

I do remember someone posting intestinal migraines before a long time ago, but can't remember more than that. Sorry, the brain just isn't what it use to be, lol. Hope you get some answers.

It could be IBS. IBS can cause a very sensitive stomach, and with migraines, it can get pain and nauseating .

I've been told many times by E.R doctors when I go that I have abdominal migraiines. It's the only time I have to go to the E.R. For me, I can't stop throwing up when I have them. I mean every 10 - 15 minutes for hours - full day. I have a headache, but it only gets really bad when I throw up. As soon as I get sick, the pain goes away. Then a couple minutes after, my unbearable nausea starts, then the vomiting. I don't know if it is the same for everyone though. I usually get an aura the day before and get very confused with brain fog and irattional emotional as well.

For me it's the same as any time you go to the E.R, pain meds... with a lot more anti-nausea meds, benadryl and I.V for the dehydration from the vomiting.

i have never heard the term but if there was ever eneyone who had that it would be me ..........my stomic is very sencitive to spices and foods and what i eat efects my migrains .............i also get very bad stomics ..........that lead to migrains ...........i went and got food alergies done and that helped a lot and i also now take proboitoics and that also makes a big diferances .............so you can try that i know those two things will improve the problem

I have Celiac Disease, so every time I get "glutened" I end up with the WORST migraine of my life, along with MAJOR GI problems for about a week or 2. It's HELL. She may want to look into that.
