Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
I try my hardest to think about the times in my days when I don't have as much pain. I have spinal issues and a bad hip that needs to be repaired surgically. On top of weekly migraines that double in intensity and frequency when I am expecting my period. But if I focus on other things I can actually enjoy myself a bit. I actually got to go kayaking the other day and was pleasantly surprised that my head didn't hurt. I struggled to get out of the kayak but I still had a good time!!
Try to find something positive every day and write it down. Even if you have a migraine that day. Try to find a positive thing and write it down. Then when the negative feelings start to hit you can go back and read your positives and feel better.
