Migraine Headaches Support Group
Migraine is a neurological disease, of which the most common symptom is an intense and disabling episodic headache. Migraine headaches are usually characterized by severe pain on one or both sides of the head and are often accompanied by photophobia (hypersensitivity to light), phonophobia (hypersensitivity to sound) and nausea.
Day 5 Small migraine and stiff neck when I woke up. Was a sunny sunday and I went for a car ride. Migraine worsened as the day went on, but I did eat a half of a hotdog, so I wonder...(hotdogs are a big no no for me, but it was so tasty)
I will say that I am optomistic still. The Chiro asked me not to lift anything for atleast a week incase it popped me out of alignment again. That is hard not to do so I hope I hadn't done that by accident. I do normally get migraines of some sort almost every day, and I've had a few days without.
I see him again in 2 days.
Day 7 - had a migraine that got progressively worse, but it was definately hormonal. (I have cramps - sorry guys) I don't expect the hormonal migraines to be gone. I do hope for the daily nagging migraines to go and so far so good.
Went for appointment and he did measurements at hips and shoulders and I am still straight and balanced. I laid down for 15 minutes and he measured again to be sure and everything is in order. He cautioned that I still have another month of being very careful not to jar my body or lift anything heavy. I had to quit my golf lessons and I can't dig in my garden or lift any pots. It is most important that I don't undo what he did at this point. I am going to Germany in a few weeks so I have to get a medical neck collar for when I sleep on the plane.
Still optomistic.
Day eight - woke up, tiny migraine but not enough to take anything. I'm very thirsty
But other than that, it's been pretty darn quiet on the migraine front except for the odd twinge and my daily log doesn't have many markings on it.
I am nervous to pick up anything heavy, or twist my head and neck. I have strangers carry heavy things for me. I remember how much the Chiro cautioned me about this first month.
So far so good.
I'm thinking this has really worked!
Still being real careful with what I carry and how I carry it, and to not jerk my neck or head....
looking good!
My head has more mobility and I still get minor headaches, and hormonal migraines, but gone are the daily headsplitting, I want to kill myself migraines that I've been suffering with for the last 5 years.
I'm not saying I"m completely cured. I have to be careful with my neck and now I'm exersizing my neck. I still get a headache, but I'm not taking narcotics all day, infact, some days, I take nothing and just let it be. I can't remember the last time I've gone 5 days in a row without wanting to claw my eyes out.
What I've learned is that migraines can be; hormonal, food triggered, atmosphere triggered, and mechanical. In my case, I have hormonal, food and mechanical. I can't do anything about hormonal right now. I've taken care of food, and mechanical was a real BIG one!
I would definately recommend this. Not any chiropractor, but someone who is certified NUCCA.
I can't beleive I am at this point in my life. It makes sense. If your head is sitting crooked and on a nerve, it would give you migraines.
