Look at the post for the HALO device that was just posted a few days ago. I looked at the link. It answered my questions about the new device. What do you think about it? I'm going to ask my new neurologist about it in April.

I just got one last week. I think it's helping me a lot at night, but not so much in the daytime. The electrodes are 3 for $50, a continuing expense. Each is supposed to be good for 20 uses, meaning 10 days, but I started having problems after the first few uses.

Too bad we can't link the earlier discussion and this one, same idea for a lot of topics because a lot of people ask questions not knowing it's already been discussed. I know I've stopped replying to some of the same topics that I have personal experience with because I'm tired of saying the same thing repeatedly. If when starting a discussion the site suggested existing discussions with the same or similar topics it might really be helpful. But this is what we have to work with.

Anyhow, topic at hand.....I got a Rx and bought a Cefaly. I think it was $395 with shipping. You put in on and lay still and it runs for 20 minutes. it does give me some amount of relief. I still need my meds, but it can take the edge off a headache and help my meds. I'm glad I have it in my list of remedies. The directions say not to use it more than twice a day.

There is a drawback - The Cefaly uses a funny shaped electrode that goes over your nose and part of your brow. The directions say not to use it more than 20 times, then start a new one. The unit came with one "test" electrode and a package of 3. At 20 uses each and twice a day you would use a package of 3 electrodes monthly, which costs about $50. Mine didn't even stick to me for 20 uses so I took some tape and taped it on. I'm on the same application of tape and I'm still able to stick it on me and take it off. I use a very heavy semi-clear tape I buy in the grocery store. I don't have the packaging the tape came in, but the inside of the spool says 3M Transpore. The end result is that I'm still using the "test" electrode. I wish I could remember what's used in the theater to stick on pretend beards, because that would probably work just as well.

Over the last few days I've found there is something new, what I think is called an "Arnold Attachment". It looks like something you would put over your eyes but it is designed to transfer the function of the thing the the back of the head in the occipital area. The cost is around $90.

A friend called me a week ago to tell me a local woman is selling what I think he said was a "Tens 50" or maybe i t was $50. I don't remember. If it helped it would be a lot cheaper then a Cefaly.
