Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I have become a stranger to myself.
I thank you ladies who have responded thus far.
Hang in there we will get through this.
Before my hot flashes I usually get cold and then at night I will have a bad one.. Then I am cool all the next day.
Moodiness sets in at times too.

To add insult to injury, I was dealing with betrayal by my gynecologist who removed everything for an ovarian cyst to train gyn residents. Plus his office hung up on me when I called a few months post-op because the patch he Rx'd left me a total mess. IMO he deserves to have his balls cut off LOL!!
I used to be such a vibrant, happy person. Everyone even commented on it. My sisters sailed through menopause, no problems whatsoever. So they can't relate.
Glad we can vent here.
I also have lack of concentration, forgetfulness, overwhelming feelings, increased breast pain/soreness, cramps, these weird waves/sensations throughout my body that bring feelings of faintness/weakness (similar to what Kahlua13 described), dizziness, increased/severe environmental allergies that I've had for the past 4-5 yrs and have never had before, muscle pain/tension in head/neck/shoulders that may be from the anxiety.
However, I don't have the more common "hot flashes", atleast not yet!
Menopause is so unfair!
Anxiety- Regular visitor
Night Sweats- 4 to5 days out of the month (right before period)
Memory- daily visitor of the where did I put_______ ? game. Or I get in the middle of a sentence and forget what I am talking about(very entertaining to the husband who rarely listens anyway)
Depression- visits often but I have to work hard to keep it at bay/ sometimes it wins but only temporarily.
Mood Swings- Seems to coincide with the night sweats-really irritating especially to spouse.
Bloating & Constipation-2 days before period
Day before period I get a surge of energy and want to clean the house...don't get very far when period kicks in and won't let me do anything.
Diarrhea- day of period
Period - painful, heavy flow extreme cramping but the only time emotionally I feel normal.
Strange that about the only time I feel normal emotionally is when I am in severe pain physically. Being female seems totally ironic sometimes.
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
I take anti-depressants from the time I found out I had cancer in 2010,although I have had it a long time but thought the sadness would go away..& now my blood pressure is off the charts and had to change my eating habits..so one issue at a time is all I can handle.I cant remember anything anymore its scarey..I stop mid sentence cause I forgot what I was saying or where I was going..I fing humor in alot of it,but sometimes Im so distracted I will begin things in the kitchen and forget it next thing there is smoke or the alarm goes of..sigh*
