weird periods.

im 51 and my periods are getting werid now. I spot 2 days before my period and spot 3 or 4 days after my period is suppose to end. Im bleeding heavy for 3 or 4 days instead of the 2 days. Last month I stood up and felt a gush of blood (that scared the heck out me)...I use to know exactly what to expect from my period, but now I have no clue, and usually something happens that freaks me out. I would love to hear what others are going through with werid periods, just to know what I might expect and maybe I wont freak out each month.

you sound exactly like me. Except that I haven't seen a period in almost 2 months. Still waiting for it :) The last period I had was the week before halloween and I am only 44 (early menupause runs in my family, I have always known that it would happen to me - mom was 38 and grandma was 44 when they went through menupause, my sister is 43 and she is POSTmenupausal now). I hate those horrible heavy periods that last 3-4 days. Some months are relatively easy and it comes light and lasts 2 days. It sure is weird, thats for sure.

Well, I'm not sure if I am starting or finishing. My last 2 months were extremely light. I mean like 2 days of spotting more than anything else. I would like to know if I am almost done with this episode in life... I really would like that :) But I won't hold my breath either as I know thing may be different next month. I get mine at all different times and sometimes even skip a month, so it's so unpredictable. I wish there was a more routine way of knowing what to expect.

My last 2 periods have beenvery weirdand this month the weirdest ever-age 42.
I always used to have a slight brown discharge before I came on by way of warning but last month started bleed ing quite heavily right from the start after 21 days and then long period reducing down to slight discharge after 12 days

This month blood on day 21 then nothing for 2 days then proper period but heavier than I've had since a teenager and final slight brown discharge 17 days later

So I seem to be on a 21 day cycle with 17 day periods and unpredictable starts-wooppee

Mum hadn't finished by 57 so I hope I am taking after one of my grandmas and will finish a bit earlier. No idea what either grandma went through

My periods have been Weird...I Have been a Bit WEIRD as well..Sigh.

I get Upset real easy..
I get Agitated Real easy, and Almost Uncontrolable..I have had to Apologize a Few Times in this past Year.

My Cycles for the last Year and a Half have come at Every 21 Days. One Cycle I "Bled Out"...Everything in 1 Shot..Thankfully I was in the Shower, as My Lower back hurt, so was letting the hot water beat my lower back...Scared me SO Bad I Thought I was Gonna Pass Out before I got Out..On a Good Note, I called my Older Sister, who I tend to Follow, we had Not Spoken in 2+ Years...this Broke the Ice, and she got me Settled back Down.

About 10 Weeks ago I had a Surgery, and Lost my Left Ovary & Tube..I had 3 Cycles after...then NOTHING. It has now been since Nov. 4th since I have had a Cycle.

I am 46. My Thought is..I was IN Perimenopuase, and this Surgery Pushed me that Last little way..idk for sure..but am Having No Issues, and my Last 2 Cycles were AmaZingly EASY...Not 1 Single PMS Symptom. Not a Cramp, Headache, Tummy Upset...Nothing.

Being a Woman is No Easy Thing...to Bee Sure. And Dr.s are of Very Little help...Even once I Fully hit Meno, I Cannot take Hormone Replacement, as I have Stents, and My Chances of Developing Clots is Heightened.

Periods are Weird...yes.
