Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

In my menopause, I took herbal remedies and only tooke the pill for three months when my period wouldn't stop. Other than that I have gotten through menopause fairly unscathed. The sweats are manageable. The mood swings are helped by the herbal remedies and anti depressent medication. The hotflashes are managed by breathing and some self hypnosis. Personally, I don't want any synthetic hormones in my body for any longer than nessessary.
