Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I was wondering what herbs you are taking. I am currently taking magnesium, calcium, flax seed, B6, and a multivitamin. I just ordered some natural herbs from Women to Women and I was just wondering if any are similar. I should get them any day and I hope they help.
Thanks for the info.
I started taking estrobalance by metagenics, and what was rather intense PMS has all calmed down. I've been on it for 3 months, and am now taking a month's break. I wonder what will happen this month without it - I'm biting my nails at the thought.
Anyway, am also taking P5P (vitamin B6 in it's basic form), high potency vitamin C, vitamin D, omega fish oils (1,000mg per day) and a variety of herbs that are mainly for adrenals - ginger, licorice, ashwanga, and some others).
Now that I'm not on Estrobalance, I'll be taking a B complex.
I can appreciate your name because that is how I feel lately, that I've "lost my joy". I also can't afford to go to a naturopath (I'd like to). The natural herbs are expensive (about $84 a month), but I am desperate to feel better. It sounds like you have your hands full. I take care of my 85 year old mom and my husband does almost everything for his 82 year old mom who has alzheimers. Along with our 3 kids, money problems, etc. - I know all the stress has a lot to do with making the perimenopause harder to deal with. I pray a lot, try to exercise everyday and hope this gets better soon. Hang in there!
