Palpitations

I went to the emergency room on Saturday morning with palpitations. The doctors ran all types of test and could find no physical reason for my PVCs. They released me with anxiety medication and told me to address the stress in my life. The problem is, I don't feel I have any stress outside the normal every day life stressors. Is this or could this also be a symptom of perimenopause? Uuuuggggghhhh! I have to follow up with my PCP on Monday, but she will probably say the same thing. My resting heart rate is 60-65 (athletic) which is good. The PVCs started with my PMS symtoms this month. Any comment or advice would be appreciated.

Along with peri-meno comes lots of anxiety for most women,s o it may just be that fact. As a matter of fact, I bet you if you read through all the post here, you would find that at least 60-65% of women are on some kind of anti-anxiety or anti-depressant to help them.

I have MAJOR social anxiety and have suffered most of my life, but now with me being peri-meno...it is ten times worse, so YES....the PVC's are most likely meno related. BUT...talk to your PCP about it just to make sure.

Thanks daze. Yes, it is probably peri. I am doing all the things I'm supposed to do to help alleviate some of the symptoms. But this just came out of the blue. This peri is the pitts. :(

I started having them about 3 years ago. My docter did an ekg and said everything was fine. He said most people have them, but some people are not aware of them (dont know how they can not aware of them). Chocolate and caffine are my triggers that set them off (and of course stress). I dont have them much any more. I seem to get premenopause symptoms that are bad for awhile and then go away; just in time to get a new symptom. Right now my new fun symptoms are sweating alot, my sense of smell is too good (I can smell every stinky thing there is) and about 2 weeks after my period I spot a very tiny bit (or maybe its call break through bleeding) but that one scares me. Its happend now for the last 3 months so Im call my gyn for a pap just to make sure its normal. Yeah...the joys of premenopause.

im sure it is your pesky hormones i get anxiety too but friday was the wordst yet i was on phone with nurse and it hit she said get ogg phone now and go to ER, they found nothng just anxierty,,,i trully dont call this time the golden years hugssss and gl!!!!

I started having palpitations back in my 30s. Then 2 years ago they worsened and I started having panic attacks. My doctor put me on Buspar and Paxil and I'm much better. I still have palpitations occasionly. I try to avoid caffeine. I wish you the best.

I get palpatations occasionally. With me they are definitely related to my cycle. Sometimes I will wake up in the middle of a sound sleep with my heart pounding like I just ran a race. I have even worn a Holter monitor (which tracks your heart rate for 48 hours) and nothing was unusual. Chalk another symptom up to menopause!
