Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
Does going through menopause make you have mood swings? I haven't had a period for 5 months and somehow my moods seem to be ok. Then when I do have periods I get really bad mood swings. Has anyone ever gone through this before?

It's been 4 months since my last period. Definite mood swings but who knows what's causing them? How old are you? I'm 58! Lost both my parents last year and that didn't help things. Life gives us plenty of reasons to go up and down!

My periods stopped for 6 months and I felt really calm, then the same thing, periods and crazy. I am only 41 but am in failure and my moods are unreal. I sometimes feel sorry for my husband, but mostly not (lol)!I always had really bad pms but this is worse. I never know when its coming.

I am 47. I have one ovary doing the job of two. Endometriosis took the other one. I have taken meds for bipolar (I was told this what I have), but I always questioned myself about that. I would have big time PMS attacks even when I was young. My family had a nickname for me (Crabby) when I was growing up. I still get mood swings today and they are really annoying. I just wish this menopause phase of my life would go and get it over with so I can feel better. I feel like what AnneAlex is going through. My husband just grins and bears it. So thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am not alone.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
