Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

Has anyone experienced an increased libido? I have always had a healthy sexual appetite, but lately it's getting out of hand. And it doesn't make a difference what time of the month it is. My doctor just laughed at me and told me to use protection.

Lucky you! I had a high libido at age 49 right before that LSOS gyn removed everything. But I was still having normal cycles - no signs of perimeno. Libido's been MIA since hyst!

Having a healthy libido is a good thing if you're in a committed relationship with someone you love and adore. Not so much if you're single and trying to avoid casual sex. However, I am holding my own with this celibacy thing. Although sometimes I get the "celibacy blues" I continue to focus on what's best for me and that's staying celibant right now.

Yep - you're between a rock and a hard place. But I respect your resolve to remain celibate in your situation. In the meantime, will you lend me your libido? I promise to return it when you want it back LOL!!
