Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

Hi all,
Is anyone else having stomach problems like indigestion or a crampy feeling? I am thinking it could also be part of the anxiety that comes with peri and menopause. Just wondering!

I have many times aching , burning and cramping stomach, with or without anxiety. It feels like before some exam or speaking in public, similar feeling. I heard from other ladies that this is also a common symptom in menopause, but still don't know if anxiety related or organic. I my case it's stronger and more intense when I'm stressed or nervous. Do you have anxiety too?

Yes. The anxiety lately has been worse. I think I really started perimenopause about 7 years ago, so I am hoping (and praying) that I am getting near the end. I also have body aches that have gotten worse lately, but I have fibromyalgia, so I don't know if it is that or a combination of the peri and fibro. No fun lately. I just want to feel better. Are you in peri or meno?

I too have been having stomach problems for the last month and a half. Even had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy. Everything ok except for a slight candida overgrowth, which i was treated for. Very expensive...no insurance...at times I feel full...gassy...not hungry. I feel depress also...when the anxiety is up stomach worst luke butterflies. Nobody prepared me for peri. Hope this helps. They also found mild reflux/gastritis. I feel I have some symptoms most of the month. Its been 1year plus 7 months. I also get this awful sensation in my body at the time of.my cycle. It is not internal tremors but it feels real scary. I just cant describe it. I should be used to it however still scares me.

I have terrible stomach problems such as: nausea, cramping, fluid retention, and lastly throwing up in the mornings. Had a ultrasound concerning possible gallbladder issues. Everything was fine. Although, I am very depressed, anxiety, anger outbursts, and finally complete isolation within the house for several days at a time. Just feel awful ..........Hoping to have a better week soon. Thanks for your support.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
