Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I definitely think you should get the check done. the doc then may be able to give you several suggestions from which you can choose to manage your symptoms better. It would be great for you to be able to do something to help you feel better.
(((hugs)))
Yes they can check hormone levels to see if you are menopausal... I think I heard that if you go for a year without your period then you are. I think there are hormone replacement therapies that can be tried. Talk to your doctor... maybe it will help. Talk to you soon : )
Those tests were only useful to the degree of diagnosis and were in fact done for IVF purposes.
Once it was established that my FSH was off, the progesterone and estrogen levels were checked (along with some other hormones' levels too).

(just in case someone else reads this post about horrorsofhellmoans and didn't know that already)
