Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I hope I get some other ladies with this happening. My doctor claims blood pressure doesn't go up and down in a cycle. They are searching for other things. I great thing is in searching, they did a CT scan which found a tumor on my kidney. It is small and has not spread. The scan saved my life. Feeling very blessed right now. They say after the surgery, I will need to continue looking for my blood pressure cause. I'm praying it is just perimenopause. :)
This isn't necessarily true. I know a number of women who've had hysterectomies who developed high BP after their surgery. Estrogen replacement brought it back to a normal level.
I looked up menopause on Wikepedia, and they list symptoms, and I have at least 12 of them.
And, yes, high blood pressure is one of them, Never had it before, just became prominent in the past 2 yrs. It is related to hormone levels.
