Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
. I suppose it would be different for the natural menopause ladies... as you still have the ups and downs of hormone fluctuation.
I used to be a sweaty mess the week before my period so I really enjoy this part of surgical menopause.
Houston! The heat starts to come back as early as April and it doesn't
stop until December. The heat just makes my hot flashes worse! I've been in menopause since I turned 52 years old and now, I'm 58 years old. After I had my hysterectomy in September of 2008, my hot flashes
got worse. So, my gyno put me on hormone replacement therapy. It helps a lot with the hot flashes, especially in the early morning hours, when it gets very hot here in Houston. I usually feel better when the sun starts to go down. I take cool showers, too. They really help! I also drink a lot of water during the day, so I don't get dehydrated because of the heat and the humidity. I sweat a lot, too. So, the water really helps with the sweating, but, I also drink sports drinks, like Gatorade, Tropical Mango, it tastes much better than the orange flavor.
Lots of luck! I hope you feel better soon!
