Does an early period mean earlier perimenopause?

Hi, I've been away for awhile. I was wondering if any of you ladies had early periods and started perimenopause earlier. I got my period when I was 11. I am 47 and have had most of the 34 symptoms of perimen. My GYN feels I have entered perimen but it seems sometimes like I am a little young. I will be 48 in February so I am pretty close to 50. My Mom had a hysterectomy right after I was born, so she can't give me any advice in this area. It is good to be back. I feel I can relate to mostly everyone here and it helps me to deal with all of this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have been reading a lot about Omega 3 and my doctor told me that 1800 mg (i think it is mgs) could help, especially with the depression. There have been a few studies that have shown that the Omega 3 helped with the peri and meno symptoms. I ordered two months worth from Omegabrite. We'll see what happens. If men had to go through this, I think the world would just shut down. This is no fun, I hope it gets better for all of us.

fighting 4 ~ M gyno wouldn't allow it, my ex wanted other opinions, but, in truth I wanted more children. so he made sure it wouldn't happen with him.

I wasn't a pleasant person during peri until I started the pill.

I just know that if anyone checks their local hospital's or health dept.'s, they can find support groups. I know it's hard for people to go, but it helps.
