I want sex, but I cannot have sex. I am just too dry! I sent away for some samples of "replens", but you are supposed to use it every 3rd day and it is not the cheapest stuff in the world either, but supposed to help replenish vaginal moister, supplements the body's natural lurication , long lasting formula....estrogen free.

I will try it and see what happens, they sent me two samples....But my problem is if it does work, then we would have to buy this stuff forever or whenever we wanted sex! I am just about ready to give up and go on hormones, as I am way too young to have a husband who wants sex and I want sex, but we haven't in over a year, he will eventually find it elsewhere if things do not straighten up!

My doc did say she has a very small dose vaginal estrogen HT that is a little less dangerous, but I have alot of breast cancer in my family. I do not know what to do?????????????

For those of you who can't or don't want to use estrogen, you could try using vitamin E capsules vaginally. That works for some women. I had tried the synthetic (dl-) ones and they burned which may have just been because of the irritated tissues. I did not give them a fair trial to see if the burning went away. The natural form (d-) may not have had that side effect. I am on HRT and do not need to use anything "down there."

Oh honey, you are not alone. There is absolutely no desire on my end whatsoever. I could become a celibate monk with no problem. I feel bad for my husband, but I feel worse during sex. Holy crap! No one ever told me that after a hysterectomy and menopause sex would hurt so bad! My girlfriend summed it up when she said if was like Freddy Kruger is trying to claw his way out. Lotions, oils, creams...Lordy I have a drawer full and it still hurts. I wish I had a solution for you. All I can say is you are not alone.

For those of you that hurt because you have sex, their should be something to help you. I've heard of something on TV about painful intercourse and something you can take. I hope it all goes away for us and we all have the best SEX Ever! I'm just thinking SEX is just on pause for me right now and enjoy the cuddling and holding hands........I'm 57 I'm not dead! I have no desire for sex either, it doesn't usually bother me unless my husband wants to have sex and since I am not willing, he gets upset, which then upsets me because I can't help it. This does cause a rift in our marriage but it's not like my husband does not have his own sexual problems. I do not usually talk about this with anyone so it is good to know that other women are having this problem.

been there, I went thru a time when I didn't want it at all the docs said it was meds or depression however the rest of my life was ok. I have decided that I can't just have sex like I did at 20 (49 now) I have to plan it and make up my mind that it will be great. I have a hot bath and a little alcohol and a massaging shower head to help get things started. I don't really enjoy porn but sometimes listening to it helps. Or try reading a Penthouse letters. My husband has ED so even when he wants to it takes some work from both of us. I also found some all natural help at the health food store. Don't give up it can get better.

I haven't had a period since March,2009. I had severe symptoms of anxiety, depression, hot flashes, night sweats, etc. I got on HRT(combipatch), lexapro and ativan. I still take them. All that brought me back to me.

But....in all that time and problems, I never went more than 2 weeks without having sex with my husband. None of you may like what I have to say and if you don't that's okay. What is 10 minutes of your time a couple of times a week? What does it cost you? Whether you want to or not. Crap, I haven't wanted to in a long time, but that doesn't stop me.
We make love at least once a week, sometimes 2 or 3 times. Yes, I still have great orgasms. Multiples every time.

I agree with you BobSue its not his fault. But it's not always enjoyable for me either I just feel like I owe this man something. I mean after 9 kids and death of our parents and health issues for both of us... He's put up with a LOT over the last 25 years. I do try to enjoy myself because he wants me to.If he doesn't think I want to he won't enjoy it either. So I do what I do and we both have a pretty good time. If it doesn't cause you physical pain then take one for the team. Do it for your man and your relationship or he might start resenting you. At least give him pleasure if you love him he deserves that much.

I'm so with you! I had a partial hysterectomy nearly 15 years ago, but still have both my ovaries. I'm turning 46 next week and over the last couple of years, I've lost ALL interest in sex. My husband has the sex drive of a 20 year old. I feel bad for him, but I don't know what to do. I sometimes don't want to be touched at all and I don't know what to do about it.
