Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.

I am depressed going through this perimenopause hell! I don't like anyone right about now. I don't like my kids or other family members. My nerves are a wreck. I'm not sure who's body this is I am walking around in but it feels like some alien from another planet has taken over my mind and body. Most days I walk around in a fog. My digestive system is terrible. I have Acid Reflux (GERD) and have been running back and forth to the hospital with severe gas pressure and bloating. Had an endoscopy done on the 8th and all they saw was a large Hiatal Hernia (which I knew I had), but everything else was fine. My vajayjay is out of wack, my periods are this horrible brown color (not red anymore) and I'm just about the explode at any moment for any reason. Can't sleep at night because I wake up drenched, soaking wet! I declare there is some type of meno monster pouring water on me while I sleep! Ha! I don't care about anything at this time. All I want to do is crawl up in a corner and be left alone. This from a social butterfly and a former Hostess with the Mostess.... has ruined my life overall. I am single and live alone and if it was not for this forum, I would sware that I am losing my damn mind. Any words of encouragement would help. Oh, and because of a history of heart disease in my family, my doc won't put me on any HRT.

I also feel as though I am losing my mind and I can't take it anymore...I'm at the end of my rope and just want to go hide...even noises set me off....I have kids and it's a wonder they don't hate me.....I feel like a monster or beast...not human at all....:(!
MsHoneyB
Thanks for the response Moody. I know exactly what you are talking about. This is pure hell and there is not a lot of information or research being done for women going throgh this process of life. I guarantee you if this was men going through this ish at this time in their lives, research would be all over the place. They'd even be doing telethons to raise money for research! LOL.

MsHoneyB you have made my day. I feel so much like you. I don't know the person walking around in this body. I used to be the person everyone used to come by and chat with at my office. I started being short and just not pleasant to be around. I hate that but I can't help it. I can not remember a thing at all. I was going into my purse and forgot what I was looking for. I do not remember names. Heck I don't remember anything. I get a weak, shaky feeling sometimes and that starts the anxiety. No one ever mentioned this type of stuff happening during menapause. Is this a secret we are not supposed to find out until it is happening? I am a HOT MESS with alot of STRESS!

You are more than welcome Miss Honey...:)! You know something weird I heard that men go through a menopause thing too...I was so shocked to hear that...
MsHoneyB
Men go through male menopause (andropause?) and yes, they act a fool when it happens. That's when they begin to believe they are 19 again and all the chicks are in love with them (lol). However, they experience some of the same symptoms as far as mood swings, depression, memory loss, low libido, ED, weight gain, etc.

I am going through it too and it is hell. Stress makes it worse. Cramps but no period yet, never know when its coming, crying jags, you name it. I feel for you and you are in my prayers. Your sister in hell, lol, sorta..........xoxox Nancy
MsHoneyB
@Nancy. Yes, this is hell and my mother never prepared me for it. In a way I'm angry with her because she is still here and when I tell her what I'm going through she tells me to suck it up. LOL. But I love her though. Who would want to remember this hell hole. I'm journaling everything for my daughter. When she gets my age or before, she will have my notes on this craziness to help her know that she is within the 'Normal Means' of a female life.
