Menopause Support Group
Menopause is the physiological cessation of menstrual cycles associated with advancing age. It normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 55, when the body begins to slow and stop the production of eggs, estrogen and progesterone production decreases, and menstruation diminishes, eventually stopping altogether.
I think if we accept the new "us" we are better for it. It's like another chapter in the life of _____(fill in the blank)
However, I will NOT accept the following:
1. Weight gain ( I fight tooth and nail for my figure)
2. Loss of sex drive (working on it with my gyno)
3. Looking old ( have a good plastic surgeon! LOL)
4. Changing my diet all the way (still love chocolate and I want it)
As far as it "will pass." Yes, it does. The question is "when?"
But we're not what we were 10 years ago; neither are your husband nor your kids nor your parents.....nor is anyone. Even though I KNOW basically what's happening medically, I still find myself fighting it whenever it hits.( I'm sure that our overly sensitive emotions also have a good deal to do with this).
But I will work at just accepting it, and I will keep in mind that when I get through this, I will emerge better and stronger than I've ever been....and so will all of us.
Hugs and good wishes to all!
