I have to agree with you on all you said. There is no rhyme or reason to this disease. I'm sorry to hear it has affected your other ear. Try not to let it get you down. There will be better days for you. If you know what some of your triggers are then stay away from them, eating is one of the things that we can do with this disease so I eat what I can and enjoy it while Im doing it. If you can eat other foods I would go for it. It is one of our sins to enjoy. Keep your chin up.

Everyone who has meniere's experience a variety of symptoms..and yet we all experience the same result.I understand your frustration..all of us have. I've had meniere's for a very long time, and trust me when I say that there will be bad days, and you will cherish the days when you feel great. I know my triggers and there are a lot of them and there are times when I can't avoid them. Eating properyly helps, but isn't a cure. Just enjoy those days when you feel like you can conquer just about anything. Those days WILL come. Hang in there.

I feel your pain. It's so frustrating when you have these symptoms that even the doctors are clueless about. I agree with the others. You will find what you should stay away from and go from there. I used to have horrible pressure in my ear and vertigo without any warning. I take a few vitamin supplements (mostly from doing research on the internet) and monitor my sodium level. I have been "attack free" (meaning vertigo, vomiting, etc.) since August 09. Good luck to you and try to pay close attention to your triggers.

I know how you feel. When I first got sick with Menieres I did everything right as for as lifestyle, food, meds, removing stress, removing common triggers etc. and I still kept getting worse. I finally got to the point where I said forget all of this! I remember thinking all these changes are getting me NOWHERE so what is the point! I quit my low sodium diet, went back to having whatever I wanted. Did not worry about getting a good nights sleep etc. I soon became so ill I spent 4 days on the floor. Afterwards I realized that even though it seemed like all of the effort to take care of myself and this awful disease got me nowhere, I was really maintaining the place I was and my efforts were keeping the disease from progressing even faster than it already was.
Hang in there, it can get better. Take good care of yourself.

I know how you feel. I to feel I am doing everything right. I wake up every morning hopping for a good day and pow, it not. I cry to my husband, who is way too understanding. I push myself because I don't want to just lay around everyday, but sometimes that all i want to do.
I know I have to accept this and be thankful for the few little things i get done in a day. I find if you think of the good things you do and try to be positive, you'll get throught the day and maybe tomorrow will be better.

May I ask how acylovir works and helps. Reading about it it says good for herpies and shingles. I know those are related, but just how does it help in Meniere's
