Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
I don't know what to do... My regular ENT said he thinks I need to have surgery to remove the balance nerve. I went to another ENT and he said if that is the case he would do injections. He put me on SERC and wants to follow up in November. I just don't know which way to go. I have vertigo on and off, I went 19 days without it then I have it a couple times a week, mild to moderate. Some days it lats an hour other days its all day. So down, which is so not like me. Thanks for letting me vent. Be well.

so sorry and hope that you have more good day ahead. i would try a injection treatment before go for more invasive treatment like surgery. Unfortunately! the steroid injection did not work for me; please take good care.

I hope the Serc works for you and that you are feeling better soon! I assume you are already doing the low sodium, no caffeine & no alcohol? Best of luck to you!

I am keeping the sodium right around 1000mg or less a day, I have not had any alcohol in 7 months and do not do caffeine. Funny thing is before I gave up alcohol, I did not drink very much at all, I had less vertigo! So not fair...

Not fair at all!!! I hope they can find a medicine that works for you so you don't have to have surgery, but in the end it becomes your quality of life that's most important! Hang in there!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
