Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Suggestions on Salt

Hi everyone- I am terrible at the low-salt diet, but after another rough patch of Mnire's I am motivated to try it again and try to make some lifestyle changes with the way I consume salt.

Besides fresh fruit and veggies, do any of you have suggestions of no-salt or low-salt foods? I'm in the run all the time and can't always cook. So I would like to have a few things on hand that are premade or prepackaged that I can grab and go! I'm just getting sick of only having a piece of fruit for breakfast and a bland salad for lunch on work days because those are the only things I know of that don't take preparation. I end up being so hungry that I will binge on something high salt from the vending machine. (I try to save almost all of my sodium allowance for dinner so the rest of my family can have a halfway normal meal.) I would also love to hear of any dressings you know of that are low sodium.

Any suggestions are appreciated :)

No sure what part of the country you live in. Check trail mixes at a variety of stores. Lays low sodium chips, Pringles low sodium chips. I was in Charleston SC and they have a store Harris Teeter no salt added micro popcorn its good. I have found here in Michigan Williams cheese makes low sodium Coly cheese. Triscuits and Wheat thins make a low sodium cracker. Frito's makes low sodium corn chips but have been discontinued in my region. Krogers makes low sodium store brand Bread 55 mil. in 2 slices I think. Also low sodium olives. Always look for chicken that hasn't been injected. and same with pork. Beef isn't bad in sodium. frozen veggies are great for sides. fresh moz for pizza no salt added sauce hunts and I see more and more low sodium or no salt added can beans.

For the cream of mushroom soup campbells makes a very low sodium soup. also am seeing more very low sodium tuna in cans.
for salad dressing sour crean 1/2 of a small onion and a cucumber peeled and deseeded. is great. trader joes makes a great 21 seasoning NO SALT. Also the internet is great for product look up you can always ask your local grocery store if they can start getting these items just give them a list. Some do listen.
