Meniere's Disease Support Group

Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Tomorrow I am doing my second hearing test and the MD is attacking me
My landlord said she notice that my balance were off. It shock me to know that others can tell when my balance is off. I had the worst day today. so stress out. I do not look forward for tomorrow hearing test. Sad thing someone was going to go with me but back out. After the hearing test I have to see the Dr and I do not like to see him by myself. Emotionally I do not want to go on.

I will be praying for you I understand what your going through and if the doctor had anything negative to say just remember one day at a time that's all you can do. Good luck I hope it all works out

hanging there and try to work on your deep breathing excercise because stress is not too good on MD; my prayes to you and your family.

It was better then the last one. Now he is saying that there is something on shown on the MRI. He needs the CD to see. I have an CT to do. Also, I have a script for hearing aid. Last, no more treatment he said because am too sensitive to medication. I am happy he said that. Now am on a over the counter med called Bonine. My problem now is earache and balance problem plus the ringing with the nausea. But my balance issue is new to me. AM not complaining, but being thank full for the good God has given me.

If you are having balance problems, there are exercises you can do that can retrain your balance system. My inner ear is non-functioning and my DR sent me for some physical therapy. I do maybe 5 or 6 sessions with a PT and now I just do them at home. They do help.
I'm also trying the upper cervical chiropractor to see if that will help but it is too soon to know how much it helps. I do know that I haven't had a dizzy spell since I started but I did come close a couple of times. I have learned that this is just an ongoing process and we need to keep searching for tools to help us get through it.

There is so much going on in my life I do not know. I have the MD and its issues, I work two jobs and take the bus, I am in therapy, I also have other medical issue and has different specialist to see, plus now tutoring on the weekend and I teach on the weekend too. I do not know if I can add VT. Sometimes I want to close my eyes and all my medical issue would disappear when I open my eyes. I find myself staring into space more and others notice it. Today I realized again how much I cannot hear well. At times life seemed too much to bear.

Maybe that the problem I have no family. I have church family. But no real family. So if I get very sick I have no one to turn to. That is what eating me up. If I have to quit my jobs what would happened to me. Sorry.
