that's how I kind of feel that's why I'm trying every natural remedies natural relieve natural everything to help all my problems md sucks with a lot of people just not knowing what to do hope god lifts u up

I've been through this as well. After surgery and so many different meds nothing more can be done. My specialist shook my hand and wished me good luck. It's like getting the death sentence.

Mondo is so right , it feels like a death sentence , I have had this done to me too , they kinda give ya a death sentence by saying that , in the past for all my stomach issues the gastro practioner said ok we tried all , not sure what next but take care , can u imagine that , they should not be able to do that .

well as far as the MD goes my Doctors have told me that there is nothing else they can do for me, and if I need anything else to let them know and it did kind of feel weird. Curlergirl I hope every thing works out fine for you!

yep @kimee, I still have issues but I actually on my own discovered that fructose and high fructose corn syrup and apples pears , were all causing most of my pain , im fructose intolerant , of course they never mentioned this . and I use over the counter prilocsec instead of high dose nexum

I was told over 10 years ago by an ENT..."learn to live with it", I think that was when I finally accepted it.

It's just as bad when your family, your friends, your coworkers and your boss says "Arent you doing something about this condition" How do you say there is nothing to do. I am not bad enough for surgery but I still miss work sometimes. My parents met someone who had great success with the gentamycin injections and they say I should do that. I would have to get a whole lot worse before I gamble with my hearing on something that may not work. That's what bites. The stuff they can do doesn't have a great success rate. I will live with what I have until it gets so bad I can't function normally. The bit about the GI telling you there is nothing left to do is a bunch of baloney. There are better GI docs out there who will at least explain things more thouroghly. He needs a kick in the a--.

My first ENT 6 years ago said "you have MD, cut out salt, there's nothing that can be done and it will eventually disable you" I was 29. I searched until I found an ENT who would help me, now I have the best doc ever! The miserable thing about this disease is that it isn't curable and the some of the treatments are destructive. I decided that I would tolerate the MD for as long as I could but once it started to interfere with my ability to raise my son, or it jeopardized his safety I would take the more drastic steps to stop the vertigo, luckily it hasn't come to that yet, but I'm prepared for when it does. Don't let this disease stop you, keep searching for answers, YOU are your biggest advocate!! HUGS!!

Well that just sucks, being told that. But I think we've all been there. Here's my take on it. Your docs are saying there's nothing else THEY can do for you. That doesn't mean there's no other help out there for you. This is a weird disorder in which different approaches help different people. You have to experiment and find out what works for you. Meniere's suffers have found relief through acupuncture, chiropractic, valium, getting their jaws/teeth fixed, practicing stress relief such as yoga and meditation, aggressive allergy treatment, wearing ear plugs, and avoiding your triggers. I am just so very sorry you are having to deal with this while also dealing with cancer. I know it's a weird feeling when cancer seems less problematic than some odd disease that won't permanently harm you but just makes you miserable. I felt a similar way to you, (although my situation is in no way as serious as yours) when I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, inadequate adrenal function and severe anemia. I had gone in to an ENT because of tinnitus and fullness in my ear. They said my hearing wasn't "that bad" so he didn't know what I expected him to do. I tried to explain that 2 years prior I had "perfect" hearing and then the drop attacks started happening and I got sent back to the same place. They said my hearing almost completely gone and wanted to know why I waited so long to come in???????!!! He said it was too late for me other than Gent and I got a mega dose that only stopped them for 2weeks. I go back tomorrow for what? I don't know.

You need to see a hearing and balance specialist. They know what specific tests need to be done to diagnose you. Have you had either the cool and warm air or the cool water and warm water test? Have they put some kind of video recording devise on your head that tracks your eye movement? Have you been strapped into a harness to see how you balance on a moving surface? Have they said anything about the "crystals" in your ears being out of place? It's bad enough to be going through so much, only to have ENT's compound those things on which you need to focus on, like your breast cancer treatments. I'm so sorry that you have to go through so much at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you. (you may have posted that you had all of the tests, but I don't get on that often.)

HAVING MD IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE!!! Your body and your brain want to feel better, just like you do. DO NOT GIVE UP. After a while, some of the symptoms will become less bothersome, partly because your body and brain are working to get past the discomfort.
For instance, you may have tinnitus all the time, but after a while, you no longer notice it. That's the brain understanding that the tinnitus is meaningless sound, and so disregards it. MD is tough, but you can get beyond it.
