Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
Hello. I was recently diagnosed with Meniere's Disease. In fact I am being introduced to my first set of hearing aids On 8/17. I had the hearing loss, tinnitus and fullness right away. The vertigo attacks started about 3 weeks ago. I can feel the attack is coming on before it hits. I get sick when it actually hits, usually for at least two hours. Though I cannot stand and walk without staggering all over the place I have found that a walker helps me get to a chair or the bed where I can wait it out. What helps with the nausea? I just ordered wrist bands that are usually used for traveling motion sickness. Will they help?
I don't know if any of you have other issues but I am also a traumatic brain injury survivor of 25 years. Though it's a long time since the injury I believe it is the cause, or at least a major contributor to the onset of Meniere's. I already had balance problems due to the TBI and they are greatley exacerbated by the Meniere's.
Have any of you had any relief for the vertigo when your hearing gets more balanced with hearing aids? I am hoping for the best in that regard? How about vestibular therapy? I might be starting that in September after seeing my PC doctor.
Any helpful guidance is welcome.

I haven't tried hearing aids, but have found that betahistine helps tremendously. I still have to manage the fullness and a bit of tinnitus but haven't had the nausea or dizziness in years.
That and lifestyle - drink lots of water, avoid salt religiously, and a bit of exercise help me a lot.
