Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
Hi, I was diagnosed with Menieres Disease several years ago along with another MD disease, Myotonic Dystrophy. I have been complaining of a tightness in my forehead for many years and I almost constantly feel lightheaded. I suspect that is the Menieres not the MD. I only once recently had the sensation of the room spinning and that was after turning in bed. On awakening in the morning I was OK. It's is the constant lightheadedness that really bothers me.

Is it actual room spinning or when you experience vertigo in bed? That can be related to BPPV which is also connected to MD as well.

Hello Monnie, I too get the spinning while I am laying in the bed; I actually feel the bed moving underneath my body but in my head I know its not. I lay there and wait till it passes before I turn again or reposition myself untill I get comfortable. I also find that when I feel like this, if I get up and walk for a short time it calms things down. Basiclly you have to find what works for you. God Bless!

Hi, the room was spinning only once several weeks ago, I haven't experienced it since. The evening before I had pizza and it seemed a little saltier than usual, wondering if that could have been the reason.

The excess salt could do it. I get the spins and for me that is a trigger that usually a weather front is near or coming throught. Or I've turned my head too fast. The cause is the excess fluids in your inner ears (where the doc's can't reach) and they fluid moves or rises and falls. I hate it the most when it happens when I'm sleeping because I have no control over it and can't prevent it. But it is a very normal harmless part of MD.

I get lightheaded also. Its just part of MD. That what I always thought. Either way I hate. Its easter weekend I am stuck in bed on couch cause of my Vetrigo. I freakng hate it. :( but I hope u get better soon tho

I completely understand. I was diagnosed with meniere's last June. I have been on maxide for almost 1 year and the lightheadedness is getting worse day by day. I also have spinning while in bed. It bothers me to lay or turn over doesn't matter which side it is.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
