Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.

Ya I dont like that anti-valium remark your doctor made, how the heck are you going to control attacks? You need to get a new doctor buddy. Try Vanderbilt if it isnt too far away. If it is see if they can recomend someone to you.

He sits and actually listens to what you have to say and if something is helping with attacks or whatever, he will perscribe it for you. Whatever helps your life to be manageable. I think if your Dr. is cold to your situation or thinks that they know exactly what your going through and don't help you to be comfortable... fire them and move onto someone new. It's better than the frustration and stress that they can cause you.
Hope you get to feeling better!!!

I am just getting over this horrible cold I have had for about 9 days now. I had extreme cough, stuffed nose, body aches from where I was coughing so much, and just felt horrible. No fever. I even went to the ER to make sure it wasnt a pneomonia or broncitis. But through it all, no meniere's symptoms, just a little off balance. I thought maybe it was because I took it easy and stayed on my couch this whole time. I took, tylenol cold, mucinix none of which helped. Hospital prescribed me robutuxx and only took it two nights becuase it made me sleep 12 hours at a time. And today, where most of the cold symptoms are gone I started having mini-big attacks. They have been short but awful. This is such a weird coensidence. I pray you feel better soon. Please keep me updated.
