Meniere's Disease Support Group
Meniere's disease is a balance disorder of the inner ear. The symptoms of Meniere's are variable; not all sufferers experience the same symptoms. However, "classic Meniere's" is considered to comprise the following four symptoms: Periodic episodes of rotary vertigo, hearing loss, tinnitus, and a sensation of fullness or pressure in one or both ears.
I cope by doing balance exercises, walking with a stick, staying as active as I can and spending as little amount of time as possible in places that make me feel worse, as getting worse brings on severe pressure. Stress is also another enemy of mine.
Good luck, you are not alone.
Just recently I joined friends in what I thought was a perfectly "safe" outing and when it wasn't ok for me, I didn't leave and I paid for it for days. It's just not worth it. And no-one else has to go through what we do so we have to look out for ourselves and what's best to minimize our symptoms. Rest on the bad days and enjoy the good days! :)
