Yes, being calm and not letting things get to you will help control the MD

Lately I have to make sure I do not get extremely upset or an attack of menieres begin.

I have been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. I never understood anxiety because I don't get the usual symptoms i get an aggravation of Meniere's symptoms.

But for me I would wake up moody and follow that is an attack of MD. Sometimes am moody for no reason for days and when I woke up and the moodiness is gone I end up having an attack of MD. Its so weird.

Rose I am not sure of your age but MD is often triggered by hormone swings for some unexplained reason. That could be it.

maybe from depression because MD episode trigger depression.

I have hair trigger hypertension. When I get upset I feel my pressure rise first then the dizziness. If I don't regain calm my balance goes within 12 hours.

I turn 41 this year.

So sorry that you're not feeling well. A thought I had goes along with what Kerry said. If you are going through the ugly time of peri-menopause, you might be having what's termed as "menopausal rage". I heard about it after the fact.... but it made perfect sense. My heart would go faster, I'd feel the heat rise, the cheeks turn pink, and I had absolutely no patience with anyone or situation. Hook that onto MD and it is nasty. Maybe you should talk to your regular doctor about hormones....

I spoke to me doctor but she said is the illness more then menop because I handle things very well but just get mood since I get sick a lot with MD. Plus no heart raise or anything. no night sweat. she is gonna check my thyroid though cause i have that issue. She said being sick from MD as much as I do get sick she understand my moodiness.

I agree with Rachel and I would suggest seeing a gyn and get a baseline FSH. I was fine one year and then a year later I was not only in menopause but almost through. I am only 48. When the menopause started the MD really made me sick.

Having your thyroid out of balance will also make you more sensitive so I agree with having it checked.

I was diag with MD 3 weeks ago. Had symptoms in the early 2000's but was not daig then. It came back with vengeance in May 2013. Went on disability in October because I drive for a living. I can tell when it is coming by the fullness in my ear them a few days later it hits. Then starts over. Cant do surgery because of prior issues with cancer. I do notice if I'm in a crowd of people, riding in a car or even sitting next to the river by my home I start with the MD. Has to be the movment? I have short and long term disability but they are starting to give me crap about being out of work. Anybody else experience push back from disability agents?

Haven't got to the point of disability but it is always on my mind. I don't have a 5 year plan any more I am just trying to get through one year at a time.

On Valium I am more grouchy but am learning to came down and I am more moody where I cry easier. I have an gyn appointment by Jan 2014 and need to do blood test just need to set up these appointments.
