I am always tired. I sleep about 6 to 7 hours every night, then I take naps up to 3 hours long every single day. I am always always tired. I hope someone can help us know why!

Fatigue is a big part of mctd. It sucks, but as long as you are able to sleep, it's not much to worry about. It's when you can't sleep and you're tired that you really need to start worrying. Livin Right, most people have trouble sleeping on prednisone. I will be up all night, even on just 10mgs. Although, sometimes the more you sleep, the more fatigued you get. If you can get out and go for a walk, it might help. Even just getting some fresh air may help. I know this wasn't very helpful, but I think that fatigue is just something we have to deal with. You could try some multivitamins or Vit D or B12, see if those help you out, if you're doc says its ok!

i take an adrenal support supplement and i have found that it really helps a lot. My homeopath started me taking them, she said with all our meds and the disease it self, our bodies are under such stress that our adrenal glands get burnt out.......i sleep better and i don't need a nap anymore.
its worth a shot.

Brunob - can you tell me what supplement you take? I work in a high-stress environment which i love most days, but with MCTD, it can really wear me out.

Livin Right - any chance you might have depression? I know I've dealt with that off and on and my biggest symptom is that I just sleep all the time.

Sure do kitten, I can't beat it. I take 40 mg lexapro and some klonapin for anxiety and depression. But I kinda think i should be sad. Im failing as a father not being able to work. but I really tried. I have worked since I was 13 years old. For the last ten years i have suffered and used my vacation to see doctors. For the last 5 I have had what they called pneumonia at least once a year. Last year hospitalized 4 times. Hip replaced in 2000 sumthing. And yes its the dupre recalled one. I had tons of blood clots and until last year all the docs thought i was crazy. Or would decide it wasent there specialty and just not schedule me another visit. i feel so bad for my kids to see me this way. I never saw my father or grandfathers suffer until there deaths and I sit and cry because of what I cant do. It probably is depression. I just hate asking for meds and would never see a psychiatrist. or at least be honest. sorry i rambled again. my world is just upside down and Ive started losing support from the doctors. or I feel i am.

Kitten, i get it from GNC and it is called Adrenasmart. it is supposed to help with sleep too.

I sleep A LOT too. My Rheumy says sorry, not much to be done. I basically work and sleep. When my disease is active I'll sleep even more. Im grateful and fortunate I can still work but a social life? I think those days are past me now. I'm down by 7 most nights.

I am being treated for depression as well. I miss the woman I use to be and being in pain isn't fun; doesn't make me nobel, it makes me bitchy and whinny, losing my edge, my memory, my mental sharpness, it all pretty much sucks. That's why I'm depressed, but not why I'm sleepy
