Pity parties are important in the management of your feelings when dealing with a chronic disease. The key is to not wallow too long and miss out on the good things.
My friend says that every once in awhile, she will give herself a day. Then, she pulls up her big girl panties and gets on with life.
Meanwhile, I get where you are.

I hear you and understand completely! It's ok to feel sorry for yourself - no, we dont have cancer or aids, but we still have something pretty horrible to deal with! Give yourself time to grieve & be upset, and then move on and be even stronger in your acceptance of this disease & its myriad of symptoms. Hang in there!

I totally understand. I have lupus and bad raynayd's with cracked fingers and this weird situation where the skin falls off the tips leaving raw skin and exposed nerve. It's been a problem for 15 years, tried everything but it returns in brutal winter every year. I hope you have found relief. I went and registered Hand Hell, a site which I use to vent and have my own public/private pity party! Completely immature, but it provides a modicum of relief.

I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time with your hands right now. This terrible winter isn't helping anyone. Vent away....that's what support groups are for, even if we can't give any suggestions to help at least we can listen and validate your feelings.

Nitroglycerin ointment has been a life saver for my Raynauds. Especially since I don’t handle calcium channel blockers well.
