I was wondering if anyone else had this happen with a bite? I had a small mosquito bite on my knuckle and it was a little itchy like normal and 3 days later my knuckle is slightly swollen and stiff with some pain. I don't usually have any significant reation to bites beyond itchiness. Is this just a fluke because it was on a joint or is it something to be concerned about?

I get random acts of swelling even without the mosquito bites. I would think it is because it is on the joint and your immune system is protecting you. Hope it has gone by now!

thanks for the input, I have had random joint pain and swelling before but this felt different....don't know if it was just a new reaction to the bite or what. It has gone away now.

I have noticed lately that my son and I are having what seems like severe reactions to mosquito bites. Something I have never had issues with. We both are having huge welts and the itching is lasting weeks. I wonder how out rhuematological disorders correlates to yhe bite reaction.

I haven't read about anything that would cause this, but I agree, this last summer I have really had a hard time with mosquito bites swelling and causing pain. So maybe this is just another little gift of the disease.
