One of these times I'm sure to snap my neck.

I fell Friday night, it's Monday and I'm still trying to recover. I seem to take longer to recover each time. WTH?

I walk like a grandma, which I guess I am a grandma, but I'm only 49. I walk slowly and deliberately for a long while, slowly relaxing again until the next fall.

This last one was super hard, down 4 stairs so at least not a long stretch. I get so freaked out I take the elevators for 1 floor!

Can't remember which disease or med it's linked to. Guess I just want to whine and get sympathy and validation. It's just so frustrating and very painful.

I fall a lot, but it is usually at night when I am getting up to go to the bathroom. 1 concussion with black eye and 20 stitches in the chin so far.

My right knee has never been the same shape after the concussion.

Are you falling because your knees are giving out on you or are you falling because you're dizzy or something like that?
I can relate to the recovery time issue.....it seems that it is harder to recover from any sort of trauma with MCTD.
I hope you are feeling better:)

Sorry to hear that Sleepy.......falling has always been one of my fears, especially when hubby works out of town. I try and avoid using the stairs when he's gone. I always use the elevator......climbing stairs is so hard for me no matter how high I turn the oxygen.
My laundry is in the basement and I won't carry anything up or down the stairs anymore.

I hope your bumps and bruises heal quickly,

I have fallen twice once I broke my foot the second time 3 toes. Im only 43 feel like 60 sometimes hope you heal ok soon!!!-Michelle

I just turned 44 in April. It is so aggravating falling, or if my kids here a thud they all come running, I know how you feel. I've fallen 2 times this month, and have been falling for a while. At times shortness of breath and at times some joint sends a pain that I can't deal with but either way im going down. But once they find the meds we each need and we start to build back up maybe we all will stop falling. Best of luck

Thanks everyone. The time before this I cracked 2 ribs. I can't figure out what predicates the fall, just walking along. It's worse when I tumble down stairs, of course. Now I seem to tuck and roll.
My rheumy is sending me to an ears/nose/throat who specializes in balance issues? Whatever....frustrating but I guess if this guy can help me not fall anymore I'm game!

i am sorry to hear about your accident. i am starting to walk like a grandma and i am a year younger than you. i watch all these old folks at the station or waiting for a bus and they are more agile and fitter than i am.
