I too have had significant weight gain as well, since dx of MCTD. I've talked with my Naturo about this and he believes (and I agree) that the equation goes somewhat like this....disease=don't feel good=inactivity then add in any poor food choices= fat. What has worked for me (under guidance of Naturopath) is detoxing, increasing supplements, and very mindful eating.....which in turn gives me the energy and "feel good" I need to increase my physical activity which leads to weight loss. I've lost 16 lbs doing following this regimen.....so far. I still have more to lose.
