Getting worse with treatment

Has anyone else started with joint pain, muscle pain, pneumonia, and after treatment starts it seemed to tick it off and now you have a long list of problems. That all still fall under MCTD. I think they woke the beast who was previously only teasing me.

I don't know about getting worse, but I sure didn't get better. Rheumy claims the plaquinel is keeping the mctd under control, but the pain isn't any better without pain meds. He prescribed me tramadol and when i told him i have insomnia, he claims that's my regular doctor's problem, not his. Guess what, tramadol CAUSES INSOMNIA.

I had to go to a neurologist to be put on gabapentin which is helping my pain and eliminated the insomnia. But the pain is still there, even with pain meds. And I now have peripheral neuropathy too, which is a fancy way of saying pain and strange sensations in my arms/hands, feet and legs.

I hope your doctor works with you to get you more comfortable.

I had a bout of bronchitus that lasted months and my MCTD or Lupus or whatver decided to attack my lungs and bronchial system so I ended up with adult onset asthma. don't think the meds made it worse - but I do think when I get sick - recovery takes a long time because it causes a flare. hope you get to feeling better soon :/

I definitely got worse before I started to feel better.....at one point I was so weak and in such pain I could barely make coffee in the morning. I was using a french press and I sent my husband out to buy me an automatic coffee maker, and I had to buy a shower seat because i couldn't stand through out a shower.

Now I am able to work out 3 times a week and almost carry on a normal life......keep on your doctor, I also tried some alternative treatments with a homeopath and a naturapath.
